A Letter From our Founder

 

Hello friends, partners, and neighbors,

 

​Under the wide-open skies of Montana and across the rugged beauty of the Inland Northwest, our work begins with a simple truth: the people here care deeply about the places they call home.

​

When I founded Big Sky Public Relations in Kalispell, it wasn’t just about starting a business, it was about answering a calling. I wanted to help bridge the gap between government agencies and the people they serve, bringing clarity, compassion, and trust into the conversations that shape our shared future. Growing up in a five-generation Montana family taught me that progress isn’t only about new roads or infrastructure; it’s about building connection, listening with humility, and strengthening the communities we love.

Today, that same vision guides our team at Big Sky Public Relations. We believe communication done well can unite rather than divide. Our work helps government agencies, nonprofits, and community partners engage the public in ways that are clear, kind, and meaningful, so the projects that move our region forward can do so with confidence and understanding. Every day, we bring efficiency, empathy, and effectiveness to the work of public involvement.

At the heart of it all are the people: the clients who trust us, the communities we serve, and the incredible team that makes Big Sky what it is. Together, we lead with Heart, show up with Grit, and never forget to have Fun along the way. That same spirit drives our giving, which reflects our values in action. In recent years, our firm has contributed more than $100,000 to fight food insecurity, support unhoused neighbors, build confidence and fitness in kids, and care for animals in need. Cultivating a heart of generosity defines our company and invites our neighbors to do the same.

 

There’s a message I often share with our team that captures why this work matters: “You may be the only person this week, this month, or this year who provides an example of how to disagree with dignity, how to work through conflict civilly. In a society facing deep divisions, this is how you bring light, make a difference, and change your own corner of the world.”

 

That idea is at the core of who we are at Big Sky Public Relations. Our team shows up with empathy and helps people see one another again, even when they don’t see eye to eye. Every project reminds us that meaningful progress doesn’t happen alone. It happens together.
